Does Acupuncture Hurt?
Most people feel very little. Acupuncture needles are about as thin as a hair, far finer than the needle used for a shot or a blood draw. You may notice a brief pinch, then a dull ache, warmth or heaviness around the point, which is a normal response. Many patients relax so fully during treatment that they drift off on the table.
